Megan Summers

Growing up in a small town in a economically depressed region, a lot of people found it interesting how much Megan Summers loved the area, and how committed she was to improving it. She moved away to attend the University of Waterloo, where she became very involved with Impact Entrepreneurship Group, which is a youth run group that promotes entrepreneurship as a viable career path to youth across Canada. She had the privilege to work with many brilliant startup entrepreneurs, youth & involved mentors. Now, she’s moved back to her hometown of Killaloe, and started TEDxAlgonquinPark with the purpose of asking different opposing groups, “not to think a certain way – just think!”. She’s working with a number of rural entrepreneurship initiatives at the moment, but is really focused on how local food can build communities while impacting the bottom line of different businesses.
