Spencer Ton

Spencer Ton is the Chair of the Board for the Friends of Hue Foundation, a nongovernmental social enterprise organization focusing on enhancing the livelihoods of disadvantaged youth and the economic development of Vietnam by leveraging capital to country’s “missing middle” entrepreneurs.  Formerly, Ton was an instructor of English and International Relations at the College of Foreign Languages in Hue, Vietnam and has worked for a wide range of public organizations including the San Joaquin County Public Defender’s office and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Cabinet.  Ton is a member of the board for iOnPoverty, an open source online video series for young professionals and students seeking careers in economic opportunity and justice work.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Chinese, and Economics from the University of the Pacific’s School of International Studies.
