Duncan Jurayj

11 year old soccer player
TEDxBeaconStreet 2013

For a small number of those with concussions, like Duncan Jurayj, symptoms can last months and sometimes years. In this talk, learn from an 11 year old soccer player how to reduce the odds of getting a concussion; what kinds of therapies can help those suffering from long-term concussions to get their lives back, and hear him discuss with his mother the uncomfortable weighing of concussion risk in youth sports.

I am an 11 year old boy who was concussed during soccer practice when I was 10, in the fall of my 5th grade year of school. I also play tennis, ski, swim, hike, run, kayak, jump from cliffs, split wood… Kate Silbaugh is my mother and a professor of family and education law at Boston University.
